Review:

‪After taking the madden voyage with the 42” 5ver, down CA 178 a winding mountain road with rock outcrops (it didn’t look that bad from Google each street views), and getting it all set up at the RV resort I didn’t want to cook. So, we went to KRBC for dinner and to sample some beers. I ordered the Big Blue Mine Burger that was served with blue cheese crumbles, sautéed mushrooms, caramelized onions & their homemade “Class V Stout” mustard. The burger was cooked to a perfect medium and the mushrooms, onions and mustard all melded together to create a very flavorful burger.

For my beverage I selected the KRBC Flagship Beers sampler that included the ‪Isabella Blonde, Sequoia Red, Just Outstanding IPA & Class V Stout. I enjoyed all 4 and even though I am a IPA fan the stand out among the 4 was the Sequoia Red. I enjoyed it so much I purchased a growler of the Sequoia Red to take back to the RV.

One member of our party ordered the Big Daddy burger that came with bacon-jalapeño jam.  He said the jam was amazing, so I asked our server if she could bring me some jam to taste. He was correct, it was amazing, so much so we ordered some to go. This will give me an opportunity to deconstruct it and recreate my it at a later date.  I am planing on having the bacon-jalapeño jam on our bacon and egg sandwiches in the morning.

‪Others in my party also enjoyed their menu selections and I will take another trip to the Kernville and the KRBC, this time I will bring my wife and not take the CA 178 from I5 but CA 178 from US 395 a much easier, less stressful drive.

Cheer,

Chris

After a great day hanging out in Kernville with the boys, walking around the town and playing with the new RV … it was long overdue for some food.

Beer and sandwiches seemed like obvious choice for me. So I grab a flight of the locals finest featuring Kern River Brewing Company’s fines brewt. All beers tasted fantastic and highly recommended.

I was trying to eat a little light but at the same time I wanted to indulge in some of the local food goodness. I opted for the Mediterranean Chicken Sandwich with Goat Cheese (substitute) and waffle fries. The sandwich had a awesome grill on the toast with just the right amount of crunch. The chicken was juicy (not dry) and flavorful. The goat cheese was a little much … as sometimes too much goat cheese is well … too much goat cheese. Goat cheese has a tendency to overpower food and some of my bites had this issue. If I had any complaints, it would only be to ease back a little with the goat cheese portioning.

Other than that, the meal and beer was a perfect ending to the day out by the river in the RV.
