Magnolia Table

About:

We are a breakfast and lunch restaurant specializing in fresh, homegrown ingredients and good old fashioned cooking. We have something on our menu for everyone, including the kiddos, vegetarians, vegans, and folks with a gluten intolerance.

Much of the produce used in our dishes is grown locally at Joanna’s farm garden, and many of our eggs come from her chickens, too! We also love using local vendors for menu staples like our grass-fed hamburger patties and freshly-squeezed lemonade.

This season, we are spotlighting our watermelon radishes straight from the garden! The watermelon radish is a winter radish that gets its name from its bright pink center. Winter radishes are typically planted anywhere from late fall to early winter and take anywhere from 60-90 days before they’re ready for harvest. You know they’re ready when they reach the size of a tennis ball and are firm to the touch. If you order a salad, look for their vibrant pink color! (Source:Magnolia.com)

Review:

On our way back to California, I promised my wife we would go to Magnolia Farms and Magnolia Table. We went to Magnolia Table for brunch and and arrived about 1030 am. Parking is definitely and issue as it is limited, we knew this from their website, and very difficult for the Dully. I dropped my wife off and went to find parking down the street.

After waiting in line and checking in, my wife received a text that provides a waiting time update and provides notification when the table was ready. Our initial wait time was 55 minutes. This gave us time to review the menu and decide what we wanted to eat.

Magnolia Table

I ordered the signature house brew drip coffee, farm eggs benedict and a side of housemade tater tots. When the eggs Benedict arrived there appeared to be too much Hollandaise sauce. However, there was just the right amount to soak up with the biscuits and tots. The sauce was very creamy and flavorful., the bacon was peppery and crisp, and the eggs were just slightly under cooked. Benedict is usually made with an English muffin, using Jo’s buttermilk biscuits gave the dish a southern twist and was quite enjoyable.

The housemade tater tops were crispy and well seasoned and helped soak up the Hollandaise sauce.

My wife had the Farm Breakfast with fresh squeezed orange juice and she also enjoyed her meal. All in all the food was good, not too overpriced and worth the wait. If you are visiting Waco and/or Magnolia Silos give Magnolia Table a try.

Cheers,

Chris
