Review:

We were staying at the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel and RV Park and when we pull in I couldn’t help but notice the Grand Canyon Brewing Company. I said to the wife we needed to check this place out. Well it didn’t happen until the last night in town and I am so glad we made it over.

We walked across the street and entered the brewery restaurant where we were greeted with a sign “Please wait to be seated” so we waited and waited. We took the opportunity to check out all of the merchandise located by the front door. The hostess finally showed up and took us to our table.

Our waiter Jacob showed up a short time later. Jacob asked us for our drink orders and was helpful asking my wife’s questions regarding the specialty cocktails on the menu. Paula ended up ordering the Prickly Pear Mojito. She said it was very tasty and the mint was very fresh.

I went with a tasting flight to help me decide which pint to order. I selected the 4 flight sample with the Horseshoe Bend Pale Ale, Sunset Amber Ale, Trail Hike IPA, and the Shaggy Bock. All the beers were delicious but I went with a pint of the Sunset Amber Ale.

For starters I ordered the Cheese Curds and they were absolutely delicious, the seasoned breading was very flavorful.

For the main dish, Paula ordered the Barbecue Chicken Pizza

and I ordered the Falls Bacon Cheeseburger. When Jacob took our dinner order he asked what type of cheese I wanted on my burger, cheddar, Swiss, Gouda, Gruyère or provolone? I opted for Gruyère and ordered the burger medium-well and a side of fries.

When the burger arrived it looked a little small because it was dwarfed by the mound of shoestring French fries. I probably should have ordered the burger medium as it was s bit dry. However, the burger was still good, with the toasted Bavarian pretzel bun, thick cut bacon and tasty Gruyère cheese. Paula really enjoyed her pizza and it was larger than expected and she took more than half of it to go. Great for me because I will get to enjoy it for lunch later.

I also filled up my growler with the Sunset Amber Ale, so I can enjoy it on the road. I also forgot to mention that it’s not just a brewery but a distillery also and Paula got a bottle of their Rum to go.

When we were back in Williams next year we will come back to the Grand Canyon Brewing Company and if you are in the area you should check it out too.

Cheers,

Chris
