Walking Dead Self-Guided Filming Locations Tour

April 05, 2018

My wife and I are huge fans of The Walking Dead television series and we couldn’t take a trip through Atlanta and not visit some of the filming location from the first six seasons, some of these locations are also in the 7th and 8th seasons but first appears in the first six seasons. I selected 13 locations to visit since some of the locations we wanted to see were on “private property” or studio locations where we could not get access without knowing someone, and we don’t. My (Garmin link) was a great tool to plan the trip the night before and the next morning just press “go”.  Below are the stops we made during our 10 hour 200 mile self-guided tour of The Walking Dead filming locations. (Note: some of the filming locations are in “questionable” neighborhoods, however I never felt unsafe but my perspective may be different from yours based on my background.)

While in Senoia my wife and I ate lunch at Nic & Norman’s, a restaurant owned by Greg Nicotero & Norman Reedus you can check out my restaurant review here.

The Woodbury Shoppe

48 Main Street Senoia, GA 30276

We then went to The Woodbury Shoppe which is The Official Walking Dead Store, for everything Walking Dead, this is the place. T shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, hats, coozies, graphic novels, posters, standees of the stars, replicas of Lucille (in multiple sizes) and on and on.  Prices are typical for this kind of thing and not too much of a gouge. There is a little clearance area for things that are not flying off the shelf.

We picked this up at the shoppe, so our pups Oliver can channel his inner Daryl,

The Governor’s “victims” are people who were killed by the Governor. Their heads were severed and placed into tanks in order for Brian to remain strong about what is outside Woodbury’s walls, here the tanks are replaced with monitors. They are placed on a replica of the closet the Governor kept his zombie daughter Penny.
