Review:
When exiting I17 at Arizona 260, on our way to the Verde Valley RV Resort and Campground, I noticed one of those road side signs letting you know what food establishments are at the exit and it advertised Verde Brewing Company. Paula and I decided to check the place out for dinner and some craft beers later in the week. As typical with craft breweries they tend to be in industrial parks. This place was an little tricky, you’ll think you’re going the wrong way but it’s there. Tucked away in the back of an industrial area.
I started with a flight of 4 beers, the Off to Jail Pale Ale, Centennial Session Pale Ale, Scotch Ale, and the Munich Dunkle. I enjoyed each of then especially the Scotch Ale and the Off to Jail Pale Ale.
We wanted to start with the Elote Nachos but when I placed the order I only asked for Elote. That turned out to be okay. The Elote with smoked corn versus roasted corn gave the dish a nice twist and was very tasty. I would have preferred they served the Elote with fresh fried corn chips instead of the store bought corn tortilla chips.
For our main entree Paula and I both ordered the Bullpen Bourbon Roast beef Sandwich. The Bullpen Bourbon Stout marinated thinly sliced roast beef was very flavorful topped with swiss cheese and horseradish atop a soft toasted brioche bun. The sandwich was served with a small side of pineapple coleslaw, where the pineapple gave the coleslaw a sweet flavor.
When we are back in the Verde Valley next year we will visit the Verde Brewing Company again and if your find yourself there you should go check it out.
Cheers,
Chris
